The seasons are changing: after warm autumn comes cold winter with holidays, fun…and rise of the heating bills. Here are some tips on how you can lower the cost.

  1. Turn Down the Thermostat. You will be surprised how much it can change. If you turn a couple of degrees down when you are sleeping or out of the house, you can save a lot of money.
  2. Keep radiators and vents clean. The dust can be a good insulator and a reason why you don’t get all the warm. Keep it always clean and let the air flow freely. For the same reason, don’t put any furniture next to radiators – this blocks the air in.
  3. Add insulation to your home. There could be a particular reason why you spend so much on the heating. If your house doesn`t have insulation, you are losing money every day. By adding this you will make your home warmer and protected from the cold air.
  4. Change the windows. You might think there is no connection, but the old windows can let cold air in the house. As a result, you just blow money in the window. Installation of plastic windows can reduce the amount of cold air in the house.
