Electric burns can happen when a person contacts an electrically live object or coming in contact with electrified water. Sometimes it can happen in contact with the lighting, but this case is very rare.
But how can you see the difference between electrical and thermal burn? If you touch the hot surface, for example, the pan or heater, it`s going to be a thermal burn. Usually, it can be very painful and take a long time to heal. Electric burn won`t look sore, however, it can cause significant damage to the tissues deeper underneath the skin.
If you got the electric burn, you have to call the medicals as soon as possible!
Here is what you can do to prevent electrical burn:
- Try to avoid touching electrical applicants and sockets with wet hands. Make sure, that any kitchen applicants are far from the sink.
- Use covers for the sockets to avoid children contact them.
- Keep all the wires safe and within reach distance of children or pets.
- If you experienced an electric shock from the electrical object, try to get it checked or ask an electrician for advice.
